The Cloud Specialist helps companies of various sizes adopt cloud, containers and DevOps practices. A successful candidate must be adaptable, flexible, able to multitask, and an excellent team player.

Who We Are Looking For
Are you passionate about helping companies of various sizes adopt containers and DevOps practices? You'll fit right in.
As a Cloud Specialist, you will be hands-on, helping customers deploy cloud-native platforms and tools to support their DevOps practices. This role requires you to develop automation expertise with configuration management tools and Infrastructure-as-Code. A core requirement is to build and maintain relationships with these customers providing technical input to architects, developers, and operators. The position requires an interest in multiple disciplines and strong interpersonal skills.
This is a full-time position open to candidates in Canada. We are operating remotely.

What You Will Do

  • Implement systems using a wide variety of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
  • Implement Monitoring and Alerting systems using various tools (e.g., Elasticsearch, Fluentd, Datadog, Pagerduty, etc.).
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using various tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
  • Contribute to the deployment and adoption of DevOps Platforms and DevOps practices at CloudOps and with CloudOps' customers.
  • Assist in documentation of the architecture and solution design of cloud platforms, cloud practices, connectivity, and deployment patterns
  • Develop subject-matter expertise in the Azure, Google, and/or AWS cloud platforms, Cloud-Native technologies, and DevOps marketplace.
  • Assist in creating and delivering workshop content and labs around a wide variety of Cloud-Native technologies and DevOps practices encompassing IaC, container orchestration, monitoring/alerting/logging, security, and tracing.
  • Deliver presentations and demonstrations of cloud solutions with a particular focus on Cloud-Native technologies
  • Participate in community and market activities, including participation in trade shows.

What You Will Need

  • Experience with Configuration Management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet or SaltStack.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormations and ARM Templates.
  • Software development and scripting experience using Python and/or Golang.
  • Interest in containerization technologies such as Docker, Containerd, etc.
  • Interest in Kubernetes and the surrounding CNCF landscape.
  • Exposure to cloud deployment automation and configuration management for GCP, AWS, Azure or OpenStack.
  • Knowledge with, and high interest in, continuous integration via tools like GitlabCI and Spinnaker.
  • Networking experience is an asset.
  • Ability to learn fast and be curious about new technologies emerging in the Cloud-Native space.

What To Expect Once You Apply

  • You will be invited to join a 30-minute intro call with our recruitment team, and we will walk you through the team's mission, the role, the interview process and requirements.
  • We'll ask you to demonstrate your technical capabilities and will invite you to complete a couple of technical quizzes.
  • You will be invited to join a 30-minute call with the hiring manager to deep dive into the role, team and projects, and they will answer any of your questions.
  • The final interview is a 1-hour technical discussion with members of your future team.
